Explanation:

(i) Calcium hydroxide is sparingly soluble in water producing an alkaline solution known as limewater. When carbon dioxide gas is passed through or over limewater, it turns milky due to the formation of calcium carbonate. Lime reacts with acidic gases like sulfur dioxide.

(ii) The formula of acetic acid is CH3COOH and the formula of sodium hydrogen carbonate is NAHCO3. When they are mixed they react and produce carbon dioxide gas that erupts out as bubbles from the solution producing water also. The formula is CH3COOH + NAHCO3 = CH3COONA + H2O + CO2.
