Explain the significance of disinfection in water treatment.

Water treatment is the treatment or handling of water before they are being dumped in water bodies . Disinfection is the last stage of water treatment .

The significance of the disinfection process are as follows :

⏩ It removes harmful micro-organisms from the water .

⏩ It makes the water fit for consumption .

⏩ It makes the water free from any infections .

>> For example : Chlorine dioxides and ozone is added to the water in order to kill the germs .
