Answer:

the atmosphere is an important part of what makes earth livable it blocks some of the sun Ray's from reaching earth it traps heat making earth comfortable temperature and the oxygen within our atmosphere is essential for life

thermosphere is the layer of the earth's atmosphere directly above the mesosphere and directly below the exosphere while mesosphere is the layer of the earth atmosphere that is directly above the stratosphere and directly below the thermosphere

Significance of the Atmosphere:-

The atmosphere is a thick blanket of air that surrounds Earth. There are several gases within this atmosphere that helps us to live.

  • Oxygen, within the atmosphere, helps us live. Without it most of the organisms would have not survived.
  • Carbon dioxide helps in trapping heat and hence, maintains the temperature of the earth and makes it warm enough for many animals to survive (especially humans).
  • It blocks some of the sun's harmful rays.
  • The air exerts pressure on all of us. Without this, we all would have burst and died because of blood pressure.
  • Many natural processes (like winds, rains, etc.) happen on earth because of the presence of the atmosphere.

Difference between mesosphere and thermosphere:-

Mesosphere -

  • The mesosphere is the third layer of the atmosphere.
  • It lies above the stratosphere and below the thermosphere.
  • In the mesosphere, temperature decreases as altitude increases.
  • The mesosphere is where most meteors burn up before they can crash to the ground.

Thermosphere

  • The thermosphere is the fourth layer of the atmosphere.
  • It lies above the mesosphere and below the exosphere.
  • In the thermosphere, temperature increases as altitude increases.
  • The thermosphere is where most Earth orbitting satellites are launched.
