In the poem ‘The Eagle and The Mole’ poet, Elinor Wylie advises the readers to live like an eagle. It does not get mixed up with the ordinary people and thus avoids living a trivial life like ordinary herds.

The poet says gives another option to his readers. Those who don’t have the strength and courage to live an elevated life, they can live like a mole underground who lives in the company of tree roots , stones, and scattered bones of carcasses and corpses.

In conclusion it can be said that the poet advises human beings to either live like an eagle or a mole, away from the herds and crowds of ordinary people.
