The rule of law was given by an eminent jurist of England named A V Dicey in 19th century. It has following provisions:
No one can be punished except breach of law
Every person is equal before the law ( rich ,poor and high, low n official n non official)
The constitution derives its powers from rights of the individual.
But our indian constitution has adopted only first two because our constitution is the source of rights of the individual n in article 14 the term equality before law is taken from this.
It helps to maintain the equality and eliminates discrimination.
