Answer:
Derry was changed. He was keen to know the new "LIFE CHANGING IDEAS" stored for him by Mr. Lamb. He wanted to fulfil the challenge that he gave to Mr. Lamb that "HE WILL COME BACK", otherwise the former might have been Shattered and broken from inside. He wanted to help his "NEW" friend in pulling down the crab apples. He wanted to go back to his lovely "WORLD", and if he'll not do this, then he'll not be going anywhere in this world, because for him, the world was "THE OLD GARDEN WITH AN OLD MAN".
