Very similar as they follow in part the days of colonialism with a president instead of a monarch..
India has more people (more than a billion).

South Africa is filled with blacks and many foreigners, while India is mostly filled with native Indians.

India is culturally a very religious country, South Africa is more secular.

India is mostly Hindu with many minority religions, while South Africa is mostly “Christian” or “tribal’.

India has hundreds of languages. South Africa has a handful of tribal languages, a dialect spoken by the white minority, and English.

India has diverse native food. South Africa doesn’t really have much food (or popular food), and is influenced by Indian and foreign food.

India is richer, but South Africa is more infrastructurally developed.

The average Indian makes about $2k+ USD a year, while the average South African makes about $10k-15k+ USD a year.

There is a huge Indian diaspora around the world in every country. South Africa’s diaspora is extremely small compared to most countries, especially in the West.

Indians make up the bulk of NASA, I’m not sure how many South Africans are there.
