With NaOH you are only dissolving the material, whereas CaO reacts to make Ca(OH)2 . The calcium hydroxide has a lower solubility in water than NaOH and so will precipitate out. ... Adding CaO to Water :A lot of heat (exothermic reaction) is produced in the reaction, which may even cause the water to boil.

Answer:

.NaOH when added with water it seprates into positively charged sodium ions and negatively charged hydroxide ions .

.Each mole of sodium hydroxide that dissolves will produce one mole of sodium ions and one mole of hydroxide ions .

.CO2 when added with water form aqueous Carbon dioxide (Co2)AQ. reacts with water forming carbonic acid H2CO3

.Carbon dioxide will lose its protons to form bicarbonate
