The poem deals with a Man's personal Dilemma over moral action . It begins with the Ancient Mariner holding one of the wedding guest by hand , as he wanted to narrate to him ; his tale of Sin and Suffering .

He explains how they had happily started of for the journey and all was going well until he Shot the Albatross ; a bird they had hailed in God's Name . Then began their tale of Suffering.

The Storm that hit their ship was really ferocious . It followed their ship like an enemy follows its prey ! Even the mast and prow of the ship bent to show that it had accepted the supremacy of the storm . As a result their ship was stirred to the land of mist and snow with no signs of life all around .
