The simple method to produce hydrogen in laboratory is as follows -
• Materials required :
- Beaker
- Slightly acidic water
- Two metal rods
- Electrical wires
- Battery
• At first fill the beaker with the acidic water.
• Then take the metal rods and rest them in a standing position in the water filled beaker.
• Attach two pieces of electrical wire with the upper ends of the two metal rods and connect those two wires with the two terminals of the battery.
• In this way,the electrolysis of water will take place and hydrogen gas will produced along with the oxygen gas.
