Explain the stanza of A boy's song
Answers
A boy’s song is a poem that depicts a small boy’s admiration for nature. The boy enjoys watching the bright and deep pools and the gray trout in the river. He loves to hear the blackbirds sing and see the hawthorns bloom. At the same time, here cannot stop admiring the little birds chirp from inside their nest. He watches mowers busy at work mowing the area where the hay is thickest. He also follows the bee to its home and collects the nuts that fall off for free from the hazel tree.
The boy cannot understand why the other boys shoo away the little insects resting on the flowers or have a fight. All he knows is that he loves to play in the midst of the hay on the meadow by the side of the water bank.
James Hogg tries to convey that everyone has become quite busy without time to stop and admire the beauty of nature. In the fast paced life, one tends to overlook nature while the truth is that one has a lot to learn from it.
