ingestion means intake of food,digestion means breakdown of food ,absorbation means asorb food from digested food,assimilation means utilisation of food for energy and egestion means excreat out dogested food

⇒There are five steps of Nutritions in living organisms :-

  2. \bold{\italic{\green{Digestion}}}
  3. \bold{\italic{\green{Absorption}}}
  4. \bold{\italic{\green{Assimilation}}}
  5. \bold{\italic{\green{Egestion}}}

A] Ingestion :

⇒ The process of Intake of food is called Ingestion.

⇒Various animals have different organs for ingestion of food like Amoeba captured food with the help of Pseudopodia , a frog catching prey with its sticky tongue.

B] Digestion :

⇒ The food which intake cannot be utilised in the same form so the break down of large compound into small compound through the process of Digestion. These simple substance absorb by the blood.

C] Absorption :

⇒When digested food is broken down into simple substance are absorbed by the blood and transported to different parts of the body to obtain the nutrients required .

D] Assimilation :

⇒The process of utilising the absorbed nutrients for energy , growth and development by body is called assimilation.

E] Egestion :

⇒During the process of digestion , some parts of food that cannot be digested or utilised and remain undigested .

⇒ These indigested materials are expelled from the body along with some water in the form of faeces through the process of egestion .
