Helen was a year old when she was stricken with an illness.
In March in the year 1887 Helen's teacher i.e. Anne Sullivan came to live with them in Alabama and she turned Helen's world.
Miss Sullivan teached Helen about different objects by providing them to her and then help her to spell them out.
Helen learned to spell words by imitation without understanding what was done but afterwards had realized that all had name and Miss Sullivan was teaching those to her.
Helen learned to read Miss Sullivan taught her this by providing her strips of cardboard with raised letters and then having her act out sentence with objects.
