In plants xylem tissue is used for the transportation of water and minerals. Unlike phloem, xylem do not uses the energy from ATP molecules for transportation. The tiny pores present on the leaves of the plant are called stomata, these pores are responsible for the process of transpiration. When this process happens a suction pull is created which helps the xylem vessels to carry the water and minerals to the higher points of the plants.
