Answer:

The Internal Structure of an Eye

Lens: It is a transparent, biconvex, and an adjustable part of an eye. The lens with the help of the cornea refracts light focused on the retina, therefore creating images on it. Retina: It is the layer present at the back of the eye where all the images are formed.

Structure of Human eye:

  • Eye is slightly asymmetrical globe, about an inch in diameter.

The front part:

  • Iris: The coloured part

  • Cornea : A clear dome over the iris.

  • Pupil :The black circular opening in the iris that lets light in.

  • Sclera : The white part of our eye.

  • Conjunctiva: A thin layer of tissue that cover the entire front of your eye except of the cornea .

Just behind the iris and pupil live the lens which helps to focus light on the back of our eye.

Most of the eye is filled with a clear gel is called Vitreous.

Light project through a pupil and lens to back of the eye.

Behind the eye our optic nerves carries the impulses to the brain.

The macula is a small extra sensitive area in the retina that gives you central vision .

The outermost layer known as the fibrous tunic,is composed of the cornea and sclera which provide shape to the iron support the deeper structures .

The middle layer known as the vascular tunic consists of the choroid ciliary body pigment epithelium and Iris middle layer known as the vascular tunic consists of the choroid ciliary body pigment epithelium and Iris .

Function:

Both the eyes are located in the front part of the the eye .The eye receives oxygen through the acquiesce its function is to nourish the cornea Iris and lens by carrying nutrients it removes waste products excreted from the lens and maintaining intraocular pressure and thus maintain the shape of the eye.

The main function of the eye is Vision system.

Sclera- (White part) Protects the eye ball.

Pupil- (Black part) centre of the eye is an opening through which light can entre the eye.

Iris - (coloured part) surround the pupil it controls how much light enters the eye by changing the size of pupil.

Cornea - A clear window at the front of the eye cover the Iris and pupil .

A clear lens located Behind The Pupil acts like a camera lens by focusing light onto the retina at the back of the eye .

Retina - (Light sensitive inner lining at the back of the eye).Ten different layers of the cells work together in the retina to detect light and turn into electrical impulses.

Cones - The majority of the cones located in the macular or central area of the retina councils helps us to see colour objects objects.

Rods - The majority of the rods aur located in the peripheral or outer area of the retina to see in poor lighting and give us for night vision

Light enter through the cornea the clear curved layer is front of the Iris and pupil .

The cornea serves as a protective covering for the front of the eye and also helps focus light on the retina at the back of the eye .
