Here in this question, we have to list out the functions, characteristics and some important points in the structure of the heart along with anatomy of heart (diagram).
STRUCTURE:
- It is a cone shaped organ about the size of our closed fist.
- It is 4 chambered in mammals and aves.
- It is protected by the sternum and ribcage.
- It is little pointing towards the left (Max. cases)

FUNCTIONS:
- It is the pumping organ.
- It pumps blood throughout the body.
- Blood from the body comes to right atrium and moves to right ventricle through mitral valve.
- It pushes this blood to the lungs for oxygenation.
- The blood then comes to left atrium and moves to light ventricle through tricuspid valve.
- The left atrium pumps this oxygenated blood to the organs for providing them O2 through blood.

CHARACTERISTICS:

- They muscles appears rich red in colour because of high amount of oxygen and glucose.
- They are around 250 gm in females♀️ and 300 gm in males♂️.
- The cardiac muscles never get fatigued.
