Cells are the smallest living unit of an organism. All cell have three things in common, no matter what type of said they are.

  • All cells have a cell membrane which separates the inside the cell from its environment.
  • Cytoplasm, which is the jelly like fluid.
  • DNA which is the cells genetic material.

There are two broad categories of cells -

  1. Eukaryotic cells - They have organelles which includes the nucleus and the other special part. Eukaryotic cells are more advanced and complex cells.
  2. Prokaryotic cells - They don't have a nucleus aur membrane enclosed organelles . They do have genetic material but it's not contained within a nucleus. Prokaryotic cells are always one celled.
