An email should contain a Subject, Salutation, Body, Thanking, Signatory and Date.

Explanation:

An email should contain a Subject, Salutation, Body, Thanking, Your name and Date. All these particulars are to be maintained on the left hand side of the page.

  • Subject : is the most important part of an email. It should be short and specify what the email is about. It would be added in the row provided under the "To" so need not add it separately.
  • Salutation :  It is necessary to address the receiver appropriately be it Respected, Dear or any other salutation. Every mail starts with the Salutation.
  • Body : The message should be divided in paragraphs and it should be clear. Ambiguities should be avoided and the intension should be specified.
  • Thanking : It can be done formally or informally, such as Yours faithfully, Warm regards, etc.
  • Signatory and date : It is respectful and appropriate to leave your name and other mode of contact and date at the end of the mail. Adding a place is optional.

CC :  Carbon Copy means a copy of the mail will be sent to the person mention in the CC option and actual recipients (persons mentioned in TO option) will be able to see to whom the CC is sent.

BCC : Blind Carbon Copy means the recipients will not be able to see to whom a BCC is sent but the person who is mentioned as BCC will receive a copy of the mail. As the name suggests, the CC here is blind (not visible to others)
