Nucleus is actually a small spherical structure which can be found both in animal and plant cells. It has some vital sub-divisions like NUCLEAR MEMBRANE, NUCLEOLUS, NUCLEOPLASM, CHROMATIN REGION. Nucleus is the most important part of the cell which plays a vital role during cell division.

STRUCTURE EXPLANATION :-

A delicate nuclear membrane (covering layer of nucleus) encolses a relatively dense fluid nucleoplasm. Inside the nucleoplasm there is a small body called nucleolus. The nucleoplasm also contains a network of dark-stained thread like fibrous structures called chromatin fibres. During cell division, the chromatin fibres become thick and ribbon like, which are called as chromosomes. Chromosomes contain DNA, which contains hereditary units called genes. These genes are responsible for transmitting characters from parent to offsprings. We can say, chromosomes passes genetic characters from parents to offsprings.
