CELL WALL OF BACTERIA :-

★ Bacterial cell wall is made up of mainly PEPTIDOGLYCON

★ Peptido = Amino acid
glycon= Amino sugar

★ Amino sugar are of Two types

1. NAG (found in fungus )

2. NAM (present only in prokaryotes)

★ In Gram +ve bacteria cell wall is single layered and thick . It is made up of PEPTIDOGLYCON . Lipifs are also present but in less quantity.

★ In Gram -ve bacteria cell wall is double layered. Inner layer is thin and composed of PEPTIDOGLYCON while outer layer is thick made up of lipopolysaccharide.
