Pollen grains are microscopic
structures that carry the male reproductive cell of plants. The inside of the grain contains cytoplasm along with the tube cell (which becomes the pollen tube) and the generative cell (which releases the sperm nuclei). The outer shell is made of two layers.

They are spherical and covered by 2 layers-exine (hard due to sporopollenin ) and intine (made up of cellulose and pectins) .The cytoplasm of pollen grain is surrounded by plasma membrane .When it is matured , it contains 2 cells -vegetative (bigger) and generative cell( small and floats in the cytoplasm of vegetative cell )
