The atmosphere is comprised of layers based on temperature. These layers are the troposphere, stratosphere, mesosphere and thermosphere. A further region at about 500 km above the Earth's surface is called the exosphere. There is one more layer between thermosphere and exosphere known as ionosphere. From this layer we get radio and satellite waves from the atmosphere, though ionosphere is not drawn in the diagrams because it's not a basic layer of atmosphere.
