Dear Student,
◆ Structure of Viruses -
- Viruses are composed of nucleid acid genome coated by protein capsids. Together this is called as nucleocapsid.
- According to shape, viruses are classified as helical, polyhedral or complex.
- Viral genomes can be DNA or RNA.
- Capsid is the protein coat around the virus which allows it to attach to host cells.
