The leaves of plants have minute pores on their external part which are known as stomata. The "transfer of gases" in leaves on the respiration process which takes place through 'stomata'.

This happens as follows:

  • "Oxygen from the air" that passes into a leaf over the stomata and come into all the "cells by the diffusion method".
  • This oxygen is recycled in respiration in unit of the leaf.
  • The CO_{2} created during which diffuses out from "leaf into the air" through same stomata.
