Permanent settlement was introduced by Britishers. According to this system, the land was given to landlords and then they gave it to the farmers . Landlords had to pay a fixed amount to Britishers.They exploited the farmers anyway they want because I he farmers had to pay them the amount they want.Government had no direct contact with farmers and landlords lived a luxurious life.
