Apartheid was the system of racial discrimination that prevailed in South Africa.

This system divide the people on the basis of skin color . The European white rulers considered all non-whites i.e blacks and colored as inferior and did not give them voting rights.

In this system, the non-whites could not live in white areas and worked there only on a permit. Trains, buses, Taxis, Hotels, Hospitals, Schools, Collages, Libraries, Cinema halls, Theaters, Beaches, Swimming pools, Public Toilets were seperated for whites and non-whites. This was called Segrigation. Non-Whites couldn't protest against this system.
