Opposite of acceleration is deceleration, the rate at which an object slows down. Deceleration is the final velocity minus the initial velocity, with a negative sign in the result because the velocity is dropping. The difference of final velocity with the initial velocity and we need to indicate this in negative sign due to dropping of velocity. Remember acceleration is vector quantity it has both magnitude and direction, for deceleration also the thing is same.1. when fan is switched off.
2.vehicles when applied break.
3.when a ball thrown on an even road.
4.ball decelerates when comes to ground after throwing up.
5.cradle decelerates when force is applied externally.(no one in the cradle).
6. landing of aeroplane.
7.pumping a hand pump.
8. drawing water from well.
9.a train reaching a station.
10.person doing gym (any task).
