water molecules pass the cell membrane in both direction, more water goes out of the cell then enters it. As a result ,the cell will shrink. This process is called exosmosis.
the net movement of water into the cell, due to which the cell increases in volume ,or swells up. this is called endosmosis. the cell sap or cytoplasm.

Osmosis means movement of water from the region of its higher conc. to its lower concentration .
Endosmosis - movement of water into a cell when it is kept in hypotonic solution and then cell becomes turgid.
Exosmosis - movement of water outside a cell when it is kept in hypertonic solution and then the cell becomes flaccid.
for ex. : When raisins are kept in pure water ,the raisins swells. This shows endosmosis.
When raisins are kept in somewhat concentrated solution it becomes flaccid.
