it is a tube that connects a testicle to a vas deferens in the male reproductive system. It is present in all male reptiles, birds, and mammals. It is a single, narrow, tightly-coiled tube (in adult humans, six to seven meters in length) connecting the efferent ducts from the rear of each testicle to its vas deferens.

Answer :-

In general terms, Epididymis can be defined as a tightly coiled structure, found on the inner surface of the testis in males.

Extra Information :-

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
  • The Epididymis is about 5 meters long.
  • Several ducts known as "Vasa efferentia" arise from the testes and help in the conduction of sperms into the Epididymis.
  • "Wolffian duct" of the embryo gives rise to Epididymis in the adults.
  • The Epididymis consists of 3 parts : Anterior ("Caput epididymis"), Middle ("Corpus epididymis") and Posterior ("Cauda epididymis").
  • The "Vasa efferentia" enter into the "Caput epididymis".
  • "Spermatozoa" that enter the "Caput epididymis" are non-motile in nature.
  • The epididymis serves as a site for the maturation of sperms and for the storage of sperm just before ejaculation.
