The key difference between earthing andgrounding is that the term “Earthing” means that the circuit is physically connected to theground which is Zero Volt Potential to the Ground. Whereas in the word “Grounding” the circuit is not physically connected to ground, but its potential is zero with respect to other points.

Answer:

Earthing is the proper connection of exposed metal parts of an electrical circuit to the ground. When the live wire touches the earth wire, large current flows through it and causes fuse to blow off or circuit breaker to trip and there by protecting the appliance as well AS USER.
