Have  - implies Wealthy people

Have-nots - people  living in poverty or did not have much mone

Explanation:

  • If you refer to 2 groups of people as "haves" and "have-nots", you imply that the 1st group are very wealthy & the 2nd group are very poor. In general, you refer to poor people as have-nots. Have-nots are people who does not possess as much resources or material wealth as others.
  • When you first look at the "have" & the "have-nots", it might be grammatically incorrect. But it doesn't. In American society the phrase is quite common, very popular and widely used. Although the first use of haves & have-nots is not exactly known, the latter date back to 1700 and the beginning of the 19th century.
