Answer:

Mole fraction is denoted by letter X

Formula:

(1) X (solute) =

No. of moles of solute / Total moles of Solution

It can also be written as

X1 = n1 / n1 + n2

(2) X (solvent) =

No. of moles of solvent / Total moles of Solution

It can also be written as

X2 = n2 / n1 + n2

● Where , X1 - Mole fraction of solute

X2 - Mole fraction of solvent

n1 - No.. of moles of Solute

n2 - No. of moles of Solvent

Note: X (solute) + X (solvent) = 1
