Ornithophily is the pollination of flowering plants by birds. Most of the bird pollinated flowers are red and have a lot of nectar. They also tend to be unscented.

Ornithophily or bird pollination is the pollination of flowering plants by the birds. Derived from the insect pollination, this coevolutionary association is well developed in some parts of the world. The association includes several distinctive plant adaptations which forms a “pollination syndrome”.

Birds that are involved in pollination are nectarivores capable of hovering flight. The plants are usually colorful like red, orange and yellow and have little scent.
