Peak load is the term used when too much of electric current is passed by a conductor(wire), it created too load on a appliance. For eg: when too many electric devices i.e. geysers, roasters, iron which uses high amount of current which can lead to overloading due to excess of current.

In short it's maximum electric power demand on a particular appliance.
