Regeneration is a process where a new organism develops itself from a part of the cut organism.. You can find that in a lizard.. it is the same with multicellular organisms like hydra

Regeneration is the type of asexual reproduction. It is the growth of an organism from a part of the body. It is a power or ability of a living organism to re-grow the part of the body that gets broken off or cut. When it has involvement with asexual reproduction, then the broken part regenerate into new individual of the same type.

Hydra exhibits Morphallaxis  type of regeneration.

In this type of regeneration the lost part is replaced by the change in the tissues present in the lost part and each injured part forms a complete organism.
