Explain the terms: (1) Resources, (2) soil formation (3) cotton soil?
Answers
Answer:
Resources-A resource is a source or supply from which a benefit is produced and that has some utility. Resources can broadly be classified upon their availability — they are classified into renewable and non-renewable resources.
Soil formation-Soil minerals form the basis of soil. They are produced from rocks (parent material) through the processes of weathering and natural erosion. Water, wind, temperature change, gravity, chemical interaction, living organisms and pressure differences all help break down parent material to form soil.
Cotton soil-Black cotton soils are clay rich soils formed in regions (tropics and subtropics) having poor drainage conditions. Such conditions favour the formation of such clays which have montmorillonite clay mineral as the principal clay mineral.
