➡️the class is a basic category. Similar orders are placed together in a class. Class mammalia includes orders like Carnivora, Rodentia and primates. They have few characters in common that is the presence of mammary glands and hairs.

➡️Many classes with some common characters are included in a Phylum. Phylum chordata included classes like Pisces, mammalia, amphibia because all have common characters like presence of notochord, dorsal hollow nerve system and pharynx perforated by Gill slits.
