A body style or shape used for flat-top acoustic guitars. A “concert” bodied acoustic guitar is smaller than a dreadnought-style acoustic guitar, with more rounded contours and a deeper waist taper. This type of smaller-bodied acoustic guitar is often ideal for fingerpickers because it has a more defined tone that supports complex chords and multi-voiced parts well, with tighter, more controlled bottom end that doesn’t obscure polyphonic passages. A smaller-bodied guitar, like a concert-style guitar, can also be more comfortable to play while seated and is often better suited to smaller players than a dreadnought or a jumbo.
