Books are our best friends. The first reason books are our best friends is that they bring out the best in us. Books make us better, if not great in whatever professions we have chosen for ourselves.

hey, this is the speech which I said for elocution competition.

Pleasure of reading is pleasure forever. Respected judges and my dear colleagues a very warm and vibrant good morning to one and all. Books are our best friends there is a saying. Books are the ones which give us enormous amount of knowledge. We go to school and learn a lot of new stuff. We are taught a lot of things. But to completely understand the concepts in the subjects, we need to read and consult the books. “A book is a gift which you can open again and again" this quote was said by Garrison Keillor. Life is not easy without friends. But when it comes to books they are our best friends forever. Books enrich our mind with good thoughts and knowledge just like a good friend. We cannot feel alone in the company of books. Books written by famous and experienced writers helps us to become a better human being and teach us how to serve the society in the best possible way. We can learn a lot of good qualities by reading books. The qualities we can learn are morals, to be kind etc... "books are a passport to all Intelligence, wisdom and knowledge" This quote was said by Dr TP Chia. Between the pages of a book is a Wonderful place to be. Books are a Treasures house of knowledge. Books are a wonderful gift to mankind. They guide us when we are confused. They Inspire us when we are low in spirit. Books are a good use of dissemination of useful ideas. "A child who reads is an adult who thinks" this quote was said by Sasha Salmina. Books are our best friends because they inspire us to do great things in life and overcome failures. books sharpen our intellect. Books may be costly but is worth more than the money. It is rightly said that "there is no friend as loyal as a book. To conclude this speech let me say a quote said by Mark Haddon, "Reading books is a conversation, all books talk but a good book listens as well".
Thankyou.
