The Third Order:- Peasants, Free and Unfree

In Europe, peasants had majority. Their were two kind of peasants, free peasants and serfs. Serfs were supposed to gift their life to the lord's and kings to serve them services.

Free peasants, they were tenants of the lord. Peasants mans had to serve military service atleast 40 days annually. While peasants families had to set aside atleast three days in week in lord's estates. The output(labour rent) from this labour directly go to the lord.

Peasants were also supposed to do unpaid work like labour services, digging, repairing roads and buildings. Also, women and children had to work for them to spun the thread and wine-presses. They had give a direct tax called taille, in which nobles and clergy were exempted to pay.
