Three main localised winds that blow over different parts of India are:-
• Loos:-
These are strong, gusty, hot and dry winds prevailing during the Hot Weather Season in the North and North - west in India. These are very fatal. They usually blow during the day time but they also blow till late evenings too.
• Kaal Baisakhi:-
These are the thunder storms prevalent in West Bangal, Bihar and Odisha regions. These are localised thunderstorms, followed by violent winds, and torrential downpours.
• Mango Showers:-
These are the pre - monsoon winds. They are an advantage for us because they help in early ripening of fruits like mango, jamun, etc. These are common in Karnataka and Kerala.
