the three modes of transfer of heat are
1)conduction-this method requires a medium for its propagation from hot body to cold body there is no physical movement of the atoms
eg-heat flowing in an iron rod
2)convection-this method requires a medium also but there is movement of atoms or molecules without the actual flow of heat
eg-while heating water the cold water is at bottom and when its heated it comes upward and the cold water comes down and takes the place of the cold water
3)radiation-this method does not requires any medium and there is no flow of atoms it travels with the speed of light
eg-heat that comes from sun
