These are the three pathways of breakdown in living organisms:-
- First one is the breakdown of pyruvate molecule in mitochondria. The products formed depend upon the organisms’ type.
- Aerobic respiration takes place in the presence of oxygen and converts private into carbon dioxide.
- The three one is anaerobic respiration which occurs in the absence of oxygen and convert pyruvic acid into ethyl alcohol or lactic acid.
