explain the three state of matter with suitable example
Answers
Answer:
Solid is the state in which matter maintains a fixed volume and shape; liquid is the state in which matter adapts to the shape of its container but varies only slightly in volume; and gas is the state in which matter expands to occupy the volume and shape of its container.
A solid is a rigid matter, made up of molecules that are closely packed, which contributes to their rigidity and strength. They have a fixed shape and a fixed volume. Eg. Brick, Coin, Ice, Wood, etc.
Liquids are made up of molecules that are free to move within the liquid, which is why they have the tendency to flow freely. Liquids have a fixed volume, but they do not have a fixed shape. Eg. Water, Oil, Blood, Milk, etc.
Gases are made up of molecules that are free to move anywhere they want. Gases neither have a fixed shape, nor a fixed volume. Eg. Air, Water vapour, Natural gas, etc.
