tectonic plate movements are of three types
- convergent - when two plates move towards each other and form mountain systems like the Alps and the Himalayas.
-divergent - when two plates move away from each other and form new crust . examples are the middle of Red sea and Atlantic ocean .
-transform-when two plates rub against each other but do not affect topography examples are the California's San Andreas fault.
