The three types of rocks found on the continental crust areas follows:

1) IGNEOUS ROCKS:  When molten Magma cools down,it forms igneous rocks.

eg: basalt & granite

2) SEDIMENTARY ROCKS: When hit each other , they form particles called sediments.These sediments compress to form sedimentary rocks.

eg: Sandstone

3) Metamorphic rocks: When subjected to intense heat and pressure, Rocks change form. Rocks thus formed are known as metamorphic rocks.
