The samodiri(zamorin) kings of kozhikode were namputhiris. maharajas of kochi were also namputhiris. mayura sharma who once ruled kanchi and part of karnataka, though he called himself mayura varma after assuming kingship. pushyamitra shunga is the oldest that i know of.
