Heya !

★Semi Conductors ★
___________________________________________________________

→On the basic of Electrical Properties , Semi Conductors are those conductors that have conduction range from 10^-6 to 10⁴ Ohm .

★Semi Conductors are of two types :
=================================

(i) Intrinsic Semi Conductors → Metals Like pure silicon and germanium are poor conductors because they have network of strong covalent bonds . But when we apply sufficient temperature , some of these covalent bonds break and electron are released as a result . These electrons move from one place to another leaving behind holes.

•°• These are known as intrinsic Semi Conductors.

(ii) Extrinsic Semi Conductors → These conductors are also called Doping because the conductivity is increased by adding a suitable amount of impurity that can be either electron rich or electron deficient .

★Applications of Semi Conductors :
===============================

(i) They are used to make electrical components .

(ii) Solar Cells that are photo - diod is used to convert radient energy into electrical energy .
