Neurotrasmitter of synaptic cleft binds with protein receptor molecules on post synaptic membranr.This binding action changes the membrane potential of post synaptic membrane,opening channels in membrane and allowing sodium ions to enter the cell.This causes depolarisation and generation of action potential in postsynaptic membrane.Thus impulse is transfered to next neuron
