Tropical Evergreen Forests. The tropical evergreen forests usually occur in areas receiving more than 200 cm of rainfall and having a temperature of 15 to 30 degrees Celsius. They occupy about seven per cent of the earth's land surface and habours more than half of the world's plants and animals.

These forest are found in hot, wet equatorial regions. High temperatures and heavy rainfall support dense forest with thick undergrowth of veins and creepers. The common trees found here are hardwood trees such as mahogany, ebony, rubber and cinchona. The major Areas where tropical evergreen forests are found are the Amazon basin, the Zaire basin and Malaysia.
A large variety of animal and birds have their natural habitats in this forests. The Gorilla, chimpanzee, Python, anaconda, hippopotamus etc., are common animals .
☆ Temperate Evergreen Forests ☆
Temperature evergreen forests are mainly found in the South-Eastern side of the continents, where rainfall is sufficient and the temperature is lower than the tropics. The trees found her include the mulberry, walnut, pine and oak. Southern China, south-eastern Brazil, south-eastern Australia and parts od south-eastern USA have these forests.
